Loading... Please wait...The Breathalyzer Store is proud to have added the BreathKey Keychain Breathalyzer to our inventory.
This is the smallest breathalyzer on the market and is the only keychain breathalyzer powered by a fuel cell sensor, the most accurate technology available. This is the same technology used in police grade alcohol testers, and now you can have it in your pocket at all times. We are offering it at the low price of $69.99, and as with all our breathalyzers the Breath Key comes with free shipping!
It is law that all breathalyzers sold in the United States receive approval from the FDA. They are investigated for an acceptable degree of quality and accuracy. They must also go through periodic accuracy evaluations. Such rigorous requirements call for a high level of technological expertise. The creator of the BreathKey, Ed Gollar, is also responsible for the court assigned devices on the ignition of privately owned cars that test BAC. His experience, and the role he has played in BAC testing in an official capacity, stands as a testimony to his qualifications. There are fifty to one hundred commercial breathalyzers available, ranging from a key chain size to the somewhat larger pocket sized, and Ed Gollar has had a hand in the creation of only one, the BreathKey.
Accurate
Introducing the only keychain breathalyzer available that features fuel cell sensor technology! The BreathKey is one of the only breathalyzers sold commercially that utilizes the same technology as the breathalyzer devices used by the police. Many testers use semiconductor technology to check alcohol levels in the blood. While this technology may be helpful and less expensive, it's quality is inferior, it is a power hog, it needs time to warm up before it can be used, it is less reliable- unstable and apt to give a false positive reading. Disposable color change testers cannot be relied on for precise results, and the coin operated ones found in some establishments may not have been maintained and are dubious as reliable sources. The fuel cell alcohol sensor, as used by the police, acts on a chemical level; it creates a small current that reacts to alcohol and converts it into a BAC reading. Unlike the semiconductor sensor, it uses little power, does not need a warm up time, and is stable; a positive when alcohol is not present is uncommon. Within five seconds of blowing into the breathkey, an individual is provided with an accurate digital readout. It is important to note that, although the BreathKey is the most accurate tester available, any user of this device must remember that it is never ok to drink and drive.
Reliable
The Breath Key breathalyzer has several reliable features. It has a lifetime battery, it is durable, and it cannot be fooled. Breath mints and gums cannot change the level of alcohol found in the blood, and that is what the BreathKey is measuring. As a matter of fact, some attempts to fool the device may result in a higher reading, particularly the use of mouthwashes with alcohol as an ingredient. If there is a problem with its performance, it can be returned according to the one year warranty that is included in the purchase.
Convenient
The Breath Key comes on a key chain, and it is approximately the size of a car remote so it is discreet. It can be carried in a pocket or purse, and as it is a part of your key chain, it is less likely to be misplaced.
How the Breathkey Breathalyzer Works
Using the Breath Key keychain breathalyzer is a simple process. Pressing the button on the front of the device activates it, and once it is activated, the user blows into the mouth piece until a beep is heard, for approximately four seconds. After a short wait of approximately five seconds the digital display will exhibit your BAC. When someone drinks alcohol, it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. The body gets rid of it through the liver and through the lungs. The breathkey is responding to the alcohol that is being evaporated through the lungs. It is important the air being analyzed come from deep in the lungs. That is why the user must blow for an extended number of seconds, an expulsion of air for less than that would not draw on air that deep. It is also important to wait for twenty minutes after eating, drinking, or smoking, to get an accurate reading. Last, it is wise to remember that BAC can be affected by gender, body weight and fat, food recently consumed, metabolism, and more.
Not for Sharing
The BreathKey keychain breathalyzer is a device for personal use, and should not be shared. To collect a deep lung air sample, the user must place their mouth on the mouthpiece. Furthermore, using it and sharing it repeatedly can compromise its accuracy. Consequently, it is a great gift idea for a twenty first birthday, or for any significant other in a person's life. Owning a breathkey can make life a little better and easier for an individual and their loved ones.
Today, more than any period in the past, there is an awareness of alcohol consumption and the blood alcohol content of an individual who has been drinking. Surprisingly, there were devices that measured blood alcohol content (BAC), or blood alcohol level (BAL), in existence since before the 1940s. Strides in awareness and technology through the following decades have brought about a variety of new and improved BAC devices for police and personal use. The most accurate, reliable, and convenient breathalyzer today is the BreathKey, standing out among the others on the market.
